Hillside Hootchies Road Rally, May 16th, 2009

Always a favorite run up the Anchorage Hillside for local rallyists, this year Rallymaster Cheryl Lynn is on another adventure on this early-eve "Hillside Hootchies" Road Rally, Saturday, May 16th. We'll gather in the Sears parking lot (NE corner), which is located at Northern Lights Boulevard and the Seward Highway.

Using the new timeline for our Summer Road Rally Championship Season for all Region events, the Hillside Hootchies timeline shall be:
1:00P - Registration Opens on site — yet you are encouraged to register online at www. motorsportreg.com before the event. Those planning on being at the Road Rally School need to arrive and get through Registration at 1:00P, as they will need to complete their vehicle inspection prior to 1:10P!

The Cones of Lock Leven Castle and Jamaican Me Crazy Solo, May 2-3,2009, Alaska Raceway Park

 

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the first two Championship events of their of the 2009 Summer Solo Championship Season over weekend of May 2nd-May 3rd, 2009. The two Solo events will be "The Cones of Loch Leven Castle" and "Jamaican Me Crazy", and they will be held at Alaska Raceway Park, which is located off Sullivan Road at Mile 10.4 of the Old Glenn Highway (also known as the Palmer Alternate).

  Schedule for Both Event Mornings

7:00AM - Solo Team Arrival  
8:30 AM  -  9:00 AM - Registration Hours

9:15 AM - Novice Walk-thru with Driver Training Members

Sweep & Tune, Sunday 26 April, 2009 - Alaska Raceway Park

Please join us for the first event of 2009, the annual Test & Tune. Sweep & Tune with us on Sunday April 26th at Alaska Raceway Park! Course design by Brad. Since this event does not count towards the season championship, this is the best opportunity of the season to try new things and introduce new people to the sport! We will have beverages, water, coffee, and breakfast snacks. We will be taking a 1/2 hour lunch break, but lunch will not be provided. So, pack your own lunch. Please come early to allow time to settle your gear, prepare your car, and get through Tech Inspection before the Novice Walk-Thru. Remember, all loose items will need to be out of your car and your battery will need to be solidly secured- no bungee cords or other sillyness! Don't forget your driver's license.

"Maybe This Time" Road Rally

The "Maybe This Time" Road Rally will be kicking the 2009 Championship Road Rally Season off on Sunday the 19th of April with registration starting at 1pm in the cafe inside of the CARRS at Northern Lights & Muldoon. The first car is slated to go out at 2pm as we'll be taking on the first championship event of the season! Plan for a run-time of approximately 3 hours through the northeast corner of Anchorage and we'll be ending at the LaMex Restaurant on Spenard near Fireweed.

The entry fees for 2009 Road Rally Season are:
$15 per person for regular SCCA members
$20 per person for weekend members

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the fifth (and final event), in the Winter RallyCross Season Championship on Saturday, April 18th, 2009. “Hyder, How You Doin'? RallyCross” will be held at former site of the Alaska Native Hospital, which is located on 3rd Avenue between Ingra and Eagle, in downtown Anchorage.
