Saturday’s event was small yet enjoyable! I’d like to take the time to give thanks to the Safety Steward - Jake Engstrom, the Checkpoint Workers - Leah Durocher, Jeffrey Lynn, Cheryl Babbe and Brad Generous and the Competitors - Dave, Sharon, Roy, Ann, Mike, Tenecia, Holly, Renee and Seth! Without all of you the day wouldn’t have been a success!

Saturday didn’t hold the uber sunny skies we experienced all week, yet the shelter of the vehicles and crisp cleanliness on the air gave us a brisk vigor to the event!

We had two brand new teams and they did exceptionally well and everyone had smiles on their faces.

Leah Making Sure the Lunker Behaved!

The route took us from Palmer to Hatcher Pass where the Grotto Lunker was waiting for the Miners to wind up the hill, he had gold nugget rice krispies for them; and back down to the Matanuska River Park where the hungry Miners chowed down on chili dogs, salads, watermelon and wonderful brownies brought by Ann!

The next Road Rally event will be in July so keep your calenders open for the Bear Paw festivities!

Place. Driver/Navigator - Class
1. Dave/Sharon - Novice (Five Zeroed Checkpoints)
2. Michael/Ann - Expert (Four Zeroed Checkpoints)

4. Renee/Seth - Novice
